Literary Quote Collage Poster - Graphic Design

Friday, May 24, 2013

We chose a quote from a list of famous literary quotes and then created graphic posters based in that quotation.

Here is the process:

First we chose our quotes, sometimes more than one, to draw some quick thumbnails.

Next we found reference based on our thumbnails. It is important not to do this step first because students will want to copy reference instead of finding reference to support their ideas.

We created a full size draft of our poster with notes on the colors those pieces would be created in. We then used this to create the pieces for our collage. Finally we drew lines and created skeletal letters for our literary quote.

These posters were both challenging and rewarding for my students with loads of critical thinking and creative problem solving. I hope you enjoy doing these with your students as much as I did with mine. If you'd like to purchase the powerpoint lesson just click here.
